Sexism within the sport industry runs rampant across elite sporting competitions. In response to the 2021 ISTD Brief: The Revolution Shall Not Be..., my campaign ‘You Wouldn’t Say That to Her Face’, addresses sexist stereotypes observed through social media commentary on Australian sports broadcast pages, specifically towards women in the AFLW. The project exhibits hundreds of social media comments visualised into categorised typographic data, unveiling grotesque trends in sexist online commentary. To expand across AFL organisations and sporting communities, the focal aim is to shun outdated gender biases cemented within a male-dominated sport.
